Subject Material:
Architecture influences human society and society influences architecture. This volume seeks to make known those individuals who are the initiators of creative works of architecture that shape our times. These very personal portraits in photography by Ingrid von Kruse are enhanced and complemented by statements written by these eminent contemporary architects, explaining what architecture means to them. A selection of sketches, drawings and models completes the insight into their artistic world of imagination and their individual thought process. The self-conception of each architect becomes evident and gains contour in this volume, revealing the ideals behind the ideas.
